As their company was trying to get off the ground, the Crime Commission connected the three military entrepreneurs with Mr. Mandera. As an organization that also works to help returning service members to secure job opportunities, the commission realized that, as a former Marine, the business leader would be able to provide needed momentum to the endeavor.
Today, the Two Soldiers and a Marine food truck offers Chicagoans looking for delicious and economical lunches pulled pork and pulled chicken sandwiches for only a few dollars, as well as cheeseburgers, ribs, and beef brisket sandwiches. Complementing the main courses are macaroni and cheese, baked beans, and french fries. The company’s catering menu builds upon these choices.
