The Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation provides funding for researchers and undertakes a wide range of projects, particularly those that focus on novel concepts and innovative ideas. If a project shows a great deal of promise, researchers can then request larger grants from governmental organizations such as the National Cancer Institute. As such, LSCRF often serves as seed funding for research projects in their early stages.

In order to raise money, LSCRF organizes a number of benefits such as dinners, family events, and golf tournaments. In mid-October, LSCRF will sponsor its Fall Benefit Luncheon, the largest fundraiser that it currently holds. The benefit will feature a silent auction of designer and collectible high-end purses. Additionally, in February 2013, LSCRF will host the annual Be My Valentine Family Event, which includes games, arts and crafts, a children’s concert, and a silent auction.
