Founded as a maternity hospital in 1921, Misericordia has evolved over the years to focus on offering an enhanced quality of life to people with physical and developmental disabilities. Now located exclusively on Chicago’s North Side, Misericordia consists of several buildings on a 31-acre campus.
Misericordia regularly holds fundraising events. On February 23, 2013, the institution will host two concurrent events in the Chicago area: a Mardi Gras-themed ball and a T-Shirt Ball. The Mardi Gras Ball will take place in neighboring Oak Park, Illinois, and will feature a silent auction. The T-Shirt Ball will offer live music, an open bar, and snacks; this event will be held at Murphy’s Bleachers, which is adjacent to Wrigley Field in Chicago.
